Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

Cedar Quarry Energy Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for service connections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service connections, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
