Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Pine Water Authority and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pipe repairs, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with pipe repairs. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We reply to every applicant.
