Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

Redstone Lantern Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Salt Lake City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
