Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Sacramento, CA)

Stonegate Sparrow Hospitality is a hospitality company in Sacramento with restaurants, rooms and catering, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to guest bookings, and clear open items. • Track costs around reviews and feedback against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with guest bookings. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Sacramento, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
