Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Sacramento, CA)

Foxglove Keystone Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Sacramento. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
