Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Sacramento, CA)

Foxglove Ivory Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Sacramento, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with deposit accounts.
