Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Silverline Wilder Pharma develops and makes medicines in Richmond. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We work to strict standards and value careful documentation. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around quality documentation against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to batch records, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with batch records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
