Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Silverline Lantern Pharma supports drug development and manufacturing around Richmond. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around batch records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with regulatory filings. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
