Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Stonegate Lakeside Telecom Group builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Richmond area, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We invest in training. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
