Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Juniper Banking Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with deposit accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
