Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Rivermark Field Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Richmond. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
