Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Bluepeak North Pharma Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for cleanroom operations, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 524 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cleanroom operations, and clear open items. • Track costs around clinical studies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
