Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Amberfield Keystone Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for ingredient orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with ingredient orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
