Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Highbridge Juniper Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for ticketing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 324 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around school partnerships against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
