Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Reno, NV)

Fernwood Keystone Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Reno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Bilingual teams are common. What you will do • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
