Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Highbridge Granite Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Omaha, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around vehicle inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
