Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bluepeak Junction Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Track costs around policy renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
