Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Linden Inspection Services Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Orlando. • We reply to every applicant.
