Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Westbrook Ember Water Authority · Remote · contract

Westbrook Ember Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Tulsa area, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 189 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around meter reading against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Tulsa. • We reply to every applicant.
