Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Westbrook Union Hospitality Group is a hospitality company in Virginia Beach with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around reviews and feedback against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to guest bookings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with guest bookings. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
