Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Amberfield Vale Press produces print and digital publications in Jacksonville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 328 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to press runs, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with press runs. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Jacksonville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
