Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Harborlight Cedar Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Jacksonville area, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Guests remember kindness. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with group events. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
