Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Lakeside Transit Planning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
