Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Westbrook Pike Staffing is a Anchorage staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We are in the people business and act like it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
