Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Summit Nest Auto Group serves drivers and dealerships across the Austin region, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Service hours are steady. What you will do • Track costs around warranty claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
