Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Beacon Financial and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 168 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with payment disputes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
