Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Summit Fern Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for licensing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. • Track costs around caregiver training against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with licensing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
