Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Summit Corner Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Birmingham. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Technicians are respected and trained. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with customer estimates. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
