Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Silverline West Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for collection routes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 271 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Cleveland. • We reply to every applicant.
