Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bright Rowan Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Jackson. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
