Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Vale Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with supplier deliveries. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
