Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Iron Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vehicle inspections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
