Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Harborlight Kestrel Staffing Group connects candidates and employers across the Little Rock region, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 115 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to candidate screening, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with candidate screening. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Little Rock. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
