Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Highbridge Meridian Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for survey data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to survey data, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with survey data. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
