Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Westbrook Nest Medical is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for training materials, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to training materials, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
