Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Nova Ashton Inspection Services is an inspection company in Phoenix with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Phoenix. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
