Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Rivermark Basin Banking Services is a regional lender in Buffalo with branches and a growing mobile service, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with loan files. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
