Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Highbridge Umber Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for client sites, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Wichita. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
