Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bright Mill Telecom is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for outage reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Track costs around service installations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with outage reports. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
