Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Foxglove Sable Community Partners Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for volunteer shifts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with volunteer shifts. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
