Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Lumen Pike Markets serves neighbourhoods around Tampa with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 35 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Tampa. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
