Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Lumen Linden Foods is a Raleigh food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Raleigh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
