Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Harborlight Ember Press is a printer and publisher in Spokane serving local and national clients. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Track costs around press runs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Spokane. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
