Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Northwind River Financial and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Teams collaborate across risk, service and technology. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory reports, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory reports. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
