Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Clearpath North Early Learning runs childcare centres in Buffalo caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with meal programmes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
