Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Ironwood Loom Property Management manages apartment communities around Buffalo, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to unit turnovers, and clear open items. • Track costs around maintenance requests against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with unit turnovers. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
