Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Foxglove Amber Staffing places workers with employers around Sacramento, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Recruiters here keep in touch with people long after placement. What you will do • Track costs around candidate screening against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Sacramento. • We reply to every applicant.
