Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Bright Ridge Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Cincinnati. • We reply to every applicant.
