Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Oak Freight Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 81 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
