Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Fernwood Ember Markets Group is a Tulsa retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with store inventory. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Tulsa. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
